Welcome to Art Authority!

We are located at 5543 Venice Blvd. in Venice beach and owned and operated by the locals art society.  Come see us today...

Illusion is defined as, the condition of being deceived, a false perception of reality. Featured today is an exhibition of artist's work that display the effects of illussionary techniques and definition. Each work chosen for this exhibit is a collaboration of visual confusion, hidden pictures and deception of the mind.  Concentrate, what are you really looking at?  What your eyes see and your mind perceives may mislead you and make you doubt the reality in which you exist!

"Elise"
Seductive curves tamed by intent with color and contrast. Labyrinth like, she wishes to be explored and respected for her unique complexity. If you choose to enter, you do so at your own risk and you gamble with the potential of becoming very, very lost. My advice? Take a chance and I'll see you on the other side.

"Butterfly"
It started with the realization that the human form and this magnificent Panther were meant to be paired. I visualized the backside of a shapely female and the Panther’s portrait, together as one. It now seems a most obvious combination. I painted both the model and backdrop within the same twenty-four hours, only sleeping for one hour between the two sessions. “Butterfly” is a reference to the subtle image I painted -as the Panther’s nose.

The works chosen for this gallery were unique and meaningful to each person who chose them in some way or another.  Each piece was the epitomy of illussionary art in its greatest respects.  We  have truly learned to appreciate the beauty and passion put into such magnificent creations made solely for our viewing pleasures. They help open our eyes to a world that may have otherwise been left unturned and untraveled.  We have marveled in the sense of confusion and trickery our eyes have played on us and maybe even you while gazing upon each work.  We sit in a sense of shock and awe at the attention to detail and perspective these artists have attributed to their work and hunger for more!
